DESIGNING WITH RECYCLED MATERIALS
Recycled plastics often differ in their strength when compared to virgin plastics, and this is something that needs to be taken into account when designing products or parts that will be made with recycled materials.
Changes can be made to maximise the strength of the material, to ensure that there aren’t any points of potential weakness or areas that are more susceptible to damage.
Other factors need to be considered when designing a product that is recyclable as well as made from recycled material, such as the ability to break down the product into separate components that can be individually recycled.
Our design team have vast experience designing products using recycled materials, and the materials that will be used are often the first factors to be considered when beginning the design process.
OUR EXPERTISE
Our years of experience working to produce products using recycled materials have provided us with the expertise to take on a variety of projects looking to utilise environmentally friendly materials. Our push towards sustainability and growing onsite recycling facility have put us at the heart of the global shift to using recycled plastics within the industry. We are able to use our insight to advise on materials and their suitability, to meet the needs of each part or product.
RGE can produce parts with no overmoulding, gluing, or welding, making products that are completely recyclable when broken down into separate components. We are able to source recyclable foams, as well as fabrics and mesh made from industrial waste, cast off fishing nets and ocean waste, to ensure that each part of your product is as sustainable as possible.
