RECYCLING MATERIAL HANDLING PRODUCTS
Although plastic material handling products are designed to be reused again and again whilst retaining their quality, old stock does occasionally need to be replaced when damaged, worn or broken.
One of the benefits of using plastic alternatives to traditional wooden pallets and boxes is that our plastic material handling products can be fully recycled at the end of their lives, in a completely circular process – using the recycled material from products returned to us to create new ones.
THE PROCESS
RGE regularly receives deliveries of old and worn crates at the end of their lives, from customers that purchase our material handling products. The crates are brought to our Regrind Centre at our site in Whittlesey, where they are sorted.
Our expanding range of plastic regrind machinery breaks down the crates into plastic pellets, which are then processed and used in the production process of a new product using plastic injection moulding.
Old, worn, damaged, or unneeded plastics are returned to RGE
The plastics are sorted, graded, and broken down
The recycled plastic material produced is then reused to make new products and parts
OUR BUY BACK SERVICE
RGE are able to offer a buy back service for any old plastic products or extra stock, to be recycled at our Regrind Centre into material which can be reused in the production of new products or goods parts. This allows us to use more sustainable alternatives to virgin plastics, preventing old plastics from ending up in landfill.
As part of our circular philosophy, RGE in turn uses the recycled polypropylene material from the Regrind Centre to produce our MultiNest Crates, Plastic Pallet Collars, and Universal Display Pallets, providing a recycled alternative to the standard virgin polypropylene.
This service enables our customers to make use of our growing recycling facility as part of our plastic regeneration division, with the aim of transforming plastics that would otherwise have been needlessly discarded. Whilst RGE is committed to reducing our own environmental impact, we believe it is crucial that we provide our customers with the opportunity to do the same, pushing for change within the plastics industry.
PLASTICS WE RECYCLE
The Regrind Centre is capable of processing polypropylene (PP), Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), Polyamide/Nylon (PA), Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), and Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) + Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and will be expanding to grind other plastics as they become available.
We are proud to be able to offer this service, and give a new and sustainable lease of life to old plastics.
